200MW/400MWh! JDEnergy Supports Grid Connection and Operation of the World’s Largest Grid-side Distributed Modular Energy Storage Power Station
Recently, the Huayan No.1 Energy Storage Power Station delivered by JDEnergy has successfully achieved grid connection. With an installed capacity of 200MW/400MWh, this project represents the world’s largest grid-side distributed modular energy storage power station. It sets a new record for JDEnergy in the application of distributed energy storage on the generation-grid side and creates another benchmark case.
01 Forging Ahead to Reach New Heights

Located in Enhe Town, Zhongning County in Ningxia, known as the "Jiangnan beyond the Great Wall", the 200MW/400MWh grid-side Huayan Energy Storage Power Station adopts JDEnergy’s distributed modular smart energy storage system solution. A total of 1,076 units of eBlock-372 products have been deployed, forming the world’s largest grid-side distributed modular energy storage power station. The successful grid connection marks another breakthrough for China in the field of large-scale distributed energy storage power stations on the grid side.
Upon completion, the project will effectively enhance peak regulation and frequency modulation capabilities of the local power system, curtail wind and solar power curtailment, raise the absorption ratio of clean energy, and exert positive impacts on advancing renewable energy development as well as energy conservation and emission reduction.
02 Overcoming Difficulties to Achieve Efficient Delivery
Power transmission to the step-up substation commenced on December 22, 2023, and full-capacity grid-connected delivery was realized on December 30, 2023, taking merely nine days. This delivery speed sets another new record for product delivery at JDEnergy. During project execution, despite cold weather, rain, snow and piercing winds, the JDEnergy engineering delivery team overcame tight schedules and heavy workloads. Upholding the iron army spirit, the team efficiently and excellently completed all grid connection and commissioning tasks.

Thanks to the professionalism and dedication of the engineering delivery team, the Huayan No.1 Energy Storage Power Station was put into operation on schedule with guaranteed quality and quantity. The grid-connected operation of the 200MW/400MWh Huayan grid-side energy storage power station once again verifies the outstanding performance of JDEnergy’s solutions and products through real-world practice. Adopting a three-layer architecture consisting of physical equipment, interconnection and network management, JDEnergy’s distributed modular smart energy storage system enables synchronous operation of 1,076 energy storage cabinets under unified system dispatching and control. Globally, JDEnergy is so far the only enterprise that has successfully applied distributed compact energy storage cabinets to hundred-MWh-level generation-grid side energy storage projects, standing out prominently in the energy storage industry.
